Mozilla is cutting support for the add-ons from Firefox 57 beta to replace them with powerful WebExtensions. So that our Firefox users can now feel the same joy of smooth browsing with auto-filling, we have rolled out a pre-release version of the all-new Enpass WebExtension that will also support the current stable Firefox browser. To get it work, make sure you also update your Enpass desktop application to latest version 5.6.
This week, we introduced a new edition of Enpass for Windows. The new version is the port of our traditional desktop Win32 app to Windows Store using Microsoft’s Desktop Bridge technology. The app allows us to offer you our new browser extension for Microsoft Edge – a much-requested feature from Windows users for quite a while.
But what it meant was that there are now three versions of Enpass for Windows. It hasn’t been an easy decision for us, but we believe, it will be the best way forward in the long run. There are technical limitations that do not allow us to merge all of those as one app – The transformation that Windows is going through, especially for delivering apps via Windows Store, is a work in progress at best.
But we understand your conundrum about which version should you use. And hence, this post. Let’s have a look at the three versions
It’s been a long wait, but it’s here finally! It took us longer than what we expected when we started working with Microsoft to bring an extension for the Microsoft Edge browser. Also, while we were working on it, we realized, we need to change a few other things about Enpass for Windows.
We, at Enpass, are very excited to announce that Enpass for Chromebooks is now officially available on Google Play. It’s not just a check mark against another platform for us as the most cross-platform password manager out there, but also much requested from our community of over a million users.
At Enpass we’ve been in quite a conundrum since last few weeks, and thought we’ll share it with the people who matter – our users.
