Enpass Portable allows you to take your password manager anywhere

We’ve all been waiting for this moment since a while – not just at Enpass, but across our community of over 1 million users worldwide. Today, we are launching Enpass Portable, an ode to our community which formed the backbone of this product – right from the inception with feature requests, and suggestions and feedback to perfect the user experience and fulfill user requirements.

Like always, we released the beta version for our insiders, and one of the comments really made our day.

Just a thanks for developing the portable version… truly shows that Enpass is listening to its users… KUDOS!

We think, we’re ready for everyone now with a unique product for a diverse set of existing Enpass users, and new ones that would come in for this product. Just sit back, grab your coffee, and let’s delve into the specifics.

What is a Portable version?

As the name suggests, a portable program is a software which requires no installation. Enpass Portable brings all the functionality of the Enpass desktop app with the ease of using it directly from your USB thumb drive.

You don’t need any admin permissions to install Enpass… essentially, you don’t even need to install it before using it. Just plug in the flash drive, launch the Enpass app, and remove when done. As easy as it sounds!

What’s so unique about it?

Enpass Portable doesn’t restrict you to a specific platform. Being cross-platform is at the core of everything we do at Enpass, and it would be a shame to leave any of our users on Windows, Mac, or Linux behind.

So, yes, Enpass Portable is available on all desktop platforms, retaining all the features of the Enpass app that you’ve loved so far like syncing your data with your preferred cloud service as well as auto-fill and login through Enpass browser extensions.

Who should use Enpass Portable?

Not everyone, actually. If you use our desktop and mobile apps, and that works for you, you don’t have a need for Enpass Portable.

But if you frequently get into situations where you can’t install the Enpass app because of lack of admin rights to perform installation (think libraries, public places, et al) or if you keep switching workstations in your organization (Well, hello, system admins!) and need access to your data, Enpass Portable is for you.

Of course, you should take care of using Enpass Portable on known, secure and reliable terminals only.

How much does it cost?

Well, nothing! Yes, like the desktop apps, Enpass Portable is free for everyone – whether you’re an existing Enpass customer or a new one – and it’s available for Windows, Mac, and Linux..

Where can I get it?

How does it work? Just keep a flash drive handy, download Enpass Portable files, and you’re done. Download the Enpass Portable for Windows and Mac from here, for Linux from here. Getting started is quite easy, and takes less time than to read this post. Oh yes, one more thing. For Linux, you’ll need an EXT4 formatted USB drive.

Now, Enpass Portable is yours. We’d really appreciate if you can take some time to check it out and share your feedback with us. You can share your experience with us in the comments below, and also, stay tuned on Facebook and Twitter.
