Syncing and accessing Enpass data across devices
Enpass syncs your password vaults between all your devices without sending any data to Enpass servers, keeping your data more secure than apps that require users to store your passwords in their clouds.
There are three ways to sync your Enpass vaults:
- Via your own cloud accounts (simplest, and most popular option)
- Directly between devices over Wi-Fi
- Via Folder Sync
Storing and syncing Enpass vaults on your own cloud storage
Enpass supports the following cloud services, through which you can sync your vaults through any internet connection:
- Dropbox
- Google Drive
- OneDrive
- iCloud
- Box
- WebDAV
- Nextcloud

Syncing between devices on your own Wi-Fi network
Enpass can sync all your devices completely offline, using only your own Wi-Fi network.

Folder Sync
Folder sync keeps your encrypted Enpass data backed up to a folder on your computer hard drive.

Sync timing
Enpass syncs your data...
- Every time the app is unlocked
- Every 15 seconds when the Enpass app is active in the foreground on your mobile device
- Every 10 minutes when the Enpass app is running on your desktop
- Within 5 seconds every time you save a change
Time Stamps
Each sync is time-stamped, and you can check your sync status any time:
- Go to Settings > Vaults, and select the vault you want to check.
- Under the heading Last Synchronized, you will find the time stamp of the most recent sync.
Security of data while syncing with a cloud
When Enpass is set up to sync a vault via a cloud account, the cloud is used only for storage of encrypted data. Enpass does not perform any encryption or decryption on the cloud. To sync and merge changes, Enpass downloads the entire encrypted vault and decrypts it locally, on your device. After completing the sync, Enpass uploads the encrypted vault back to the cloud.
