Understanding error messages while using the Enpass browser extension

If you encounter errors when using Enpass in your browser, refer the table below for various explanations and possible solutions.

 

Error Reason Solution
Error 403 The Enpass app has denied the Enpass extension access to your data. The Enpass browser extension seems to be unauthorized. Uninstall it, and re-install from enpass.io/downloads.
Setup required

The Enpass app has not been set up on your computer.

Set up the Enpass app before using Enpass in your browser.

Update Required The Enpass browser extension is unable to connect with the Enpass app. Install latest version of Enpass, if you are using an older version.
Browser is blocked The browser has been blocked from making connections to the Enpass app (usually after three attempts have been denied). To unblock the browser: Open Enpass, and go to Settings > Browser > Browser Authentication, and click Review Browser. Find your browser, and click Remove.
Access Denied/ Forbidden

Your browser does not have a verified code signature.

Re-download your browser from its' legitimate source and try again.
