Troubleshooting: Enpass browser extension is not working due to Sophos Antivirus

If you use Sophos Antivirus, and Enpass isn’t working correctly in your browser, it may be because Sophos is preventing communicating between apps over your computer's internal "localhost" connection (which has an internal IP address of 127.0.0.1). This can be easily resolved in the Sophos Antivirus settings.

To prevent Sophos Antivirus from blocking Enpass’s connection to your browser:

  1. In the Sophos Antivirus app, click Settings, which will open a Sophos page in your default browser.
  2. On that page, go to the Protection tab, and find Website Exceptions.
  3. In the field provided there, enter “127.0.0.1” (without the quotes), and press Enter on your keyboard.
Enter website address under website exceptions field
  4. Close this tab in your browser, and Enpass should now function correctly in your browser.
