Enpass comes with a cool sharing feature that allows the user to conveniently share the items with other people and keep them updated. Well, your data is totally encrypted and safe when it resides in the Enpass. But, the security may be compromised when you're sharing the data with the outsiders.
There are basically two ways of sharing the data from Enpass.
The data shared in this format is well encrypted with a predefined key and URL encoded. Although, it takes cares of prying eyes very well, but is not secure. Anyone having a copy of Enpass can import your shared item in his own Enpass keychain.
The data shared in the plain text format is totally insecure. It is recommended to use this format in case of emergency only.
While using this feature, you better follow the provided provisions:
Always use a secure enough channel/medium for sharing. i.e. No one must listen in on or temper with the medium. Practically, it is hard to find such a channel. We have enabled Mail, iMessage, BBM inside by default on relevant platforms. You can always copy it to the clipboard and paste it into your own trusted channel.
Double check that you are sending it to the correct person.
Delete the shared text after being sent and ask the recipient to delete the same as well after importing the item in their Enpass keychain.
