Introducing Enpass Portable… our on-the-go password manager

On forums, support emails, and on Twitter, we are flooded with requests for a solution where Enpass can work in scenarios where there’s no time (using someone else’s computer, for example) or the ability (in an IT-controlled environment like a library) to download and install the Enpass app.

"We need something which is quick. Insert flash, launch app, login, remove flash. Done.”

At Enpass, we deeply value the user feedback and suggestions from our community of over a million users in defining product roadmap and while building new solutions.

Our latest product – Enpass Portable – is an ode to that community.

What is Enpass Portable?

As the name suggests, Enpass Portable is designed to allow you to carry your passwords, login details, and other important information with you - in your USB drive - wherever you go.

It is useful for users who don’t have administrator rights on a machine to install the Enpass app, and also the System Administrators who have to keep switching their workstations. With Enpass Portable, we’ve completely bypassed that problem. There’s no install required… just plug in the USB drive, and you’re done.

How much will Enpass Portable cost?

The genesis of Enpass Portable was in our extended community of users, beta testers, and online media, and hence, the product too is for the community.

Enpass Portable will be free for all Enpass users – whether they use our paid mobile apps or free desktop apps. If you’ve never used Enpass, and will like a portable solution like this, you’re welcome too!

How can I get Enpass Portable?

The good news is that we’ve completed the development of Enpass Portable. We shared the preview version with a few of our insiders, and the feedback has been generally positive.

But before it goes out to the public, we would like to test it out with our Beta subscribers. If you haven't subscribed to our Beta program yet, and want to get your hands on this preview edition, subscribe now.

Nice :-)
I'm curious: is it cross platform? Java? Something else? Or would there be multiple binaries, one for each platform?

Rene 2 years, 1 month ago

I have the exact same question.
As nearly all computers I work with are linux based, I would hope that the portable version would work there as well.

Hi All,

Enpass Portable Beta will come for Mac, Windows and Linux (64 bit only) and it will have multiple binaries, one for each platform.

@Alex, Enpass portable will also work as a cross-platform as you can use the Enpass on single USB for all the supported platforms.
